Rev. Wright’s Foreign Policy

I have not written in recent days because I am so disturbed by the direction of American foreign policy, especially toward Israel but also in regard to many other nations. It is as if Rev. Wright has become Secretary of State and he is directing our foreign policy on so many counts. It is an unbelievable situation. Our president bows to the dictators who are our enemies and takes positions that could virtually destroy one of our main allies.

This fear of socialism is misguided. I have no problem with the government taking action so long as the action makes sense. I am pleased when the government catches criminals or wages a just war or pays my medical bills in part through Medicare. At the moment I disagree with Obamacare not because the government is running it but because itis immensely comlicated and much too expensive. All of these folks who are screaming about the horrors of socialism are the first ones to call the government for help when they have a problem. We have alawys had a part “socialist” society and part private. Remember that George Washington’s army at Valley Forge and at Yorktown was a socialist organization in the sense that some of the loonies are complaining about socialism now.

GLENN BECK LIKEABLE BUT WRONG — I confess that I once admired Beck and told him so in person years ago. Also we are generally on the same side of the political fence in that I am more conservative than I ever have been. Also I am very disappointed in the Obama Administration. However, Beck’s pronouncements about the Consitution and preogressivism and socialism are amost 100 percent ignorant and forgive me stupid. Yet I am still intriqued with the guy as a human being. That makes him very dangerous. Obama is misguided on so many issues but Beck is ignorant about most of the great issues he discusses. Sad and dangerous.

The bigots are starting Israel Apartheid Week today. We decent folks shjould fight back the way Orde Wingate fought Arab attacks on the small groups of Jews in Palestine. Goafter the suckers where they live but in a nonviolent fashion. If the university bosses do not assure that hate will be stopped then we should shut the universities down with nonviolent actions. If the Jews cannot live peacefully on American and Canadian campuses, then noone will.

I am still learning how to use this thing and my last message got cut off in the middle. My mixed feelings about the Canadian victory were because I consider the Canadians like cousins in many respects. At the same time I very much wanted the USA to win. It would be better than losing to thee Rusians. Canada has many wodnerful features and many bad ones. Much like the US.

The Olympics are over and I am happy. They lasted too long and the closing cermonies were a mix of nice stuff and truly awful material. As for the Canadian vicotry in the final hockey game I had mixed feeeling
